Senior Pastor Vacancy Announcement

The Pastoral Search Committee, representing the membership of New Hope Baptist Church, Denver, Colorado, is seeking a new Senior Pastor.  Our Pastor Emeritus, presently in the position of Acting Senior Pastor, has retired following twenty-eight plus years as Senior Pastor.  Our Committee members, along with the entire New Hope fellowship, are being prayerful, intentional and careful in our search for a new pastor.

Overview of Position and Responsibilities:

New Hope Baptist Church of Denver Colorado is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor who will provide Christian leadership and maintain the spiritual welfare of the congregation. The Senior Pastor shall preach the word of God and have charge of all services of public worship. The Senior Pastor will perform the pastoral duties that are outlined below which emphasize five primary areas of responsibility: 1) preaching and worship leadership; 2) teaching, evangelism, and discipleship; 3) budget and general administration of church resources; 4) leadership, ministerial and staff development; and 5) vision, creativity and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Ordination recognized by the American Baptist Churches USA, National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. or the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc.
• Pastoral Experience and/or Ministry Positions: 10 years minimum, with at least 5 years senior pastor experience in one congregation or equivalent.
• Experience in and commitment to strengthening and growing Youth Ministries.
• Education: Minimum of a B.A. and a Master of Divinity and/or equivalent degrees from accredited institutions.
