The Calling

First Baptist Church of North Chicago, IL  is currently seeking a full-time Pastor whose passion and devotion to our congregation is only eclipsed by his dedicated and intimate relationship with the Savior.

The Church

First Baptist has provided over 103 years of ministry as the oldest African American Church located on the North Shore.  Our congregation of over 200 members continues to strive together in our commitment to the “Great Commission” (Mat 28:19-20). 

Pastoral Qualifications and Duties

• Experience
  • minimum of three (3) years serving as a Senior Pastor
    
• Preaching
  • effective communicator of well prepared expository messages
  • licensed and ordained in accordance with the Baptist Doctrine
    
• Teaching
  • enables learning that fosters spiritual growth and maturity
    Administration
  • possess skills and a working knowledge of church administration
    
• Counseling
  • compassionate listener who guards confidentiality
    
• Visionary
  • sets goals and develops strategies to ensure continued growth
    
• Denominational Awareness
  • possess a deep sense of Baptist history/tradition
  • strong Baptist organizational affiliation
    
• Visitation
  • understands the importance of sick/shut-in, hospital, bereaved and prison visitation

• Completion or pursuant of Biblical Studies is a plus.
