The Pastoral Search Committee, representing the membership of Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, is seeking a Senior Pastor. Presently the church has Rev. Christopher Chapple in the role of Interim Pastor until the Senior Pastor is secured. In addition, the Senior Pastors of the Antioch Consolidated District Association are serving as advisors to the Pastoral Search Committee. Committee members, along with the entire Greater Pilgrim Rest family, are prayerful, intentional, and methodical in our search for a new pastor.
The Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church was established in 1903. At that time it was known as the Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.C. Morris who served the fellowship before God called him to further work.
Today Greater Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church has grown to approximately 250 members. It stands as one of only two African-American missionary Baptist churches in the community. The church's mission is to "love God, love others, and make disciples." Through its vision and ministries the church seeks to "become an authentic community of believers who are experiencing God and living for Him, building spiritually strong families, and expanding their influence to reach people for Christ." The church, along with the efforts of the "District," currently has an expansive evangelistic outreach ministry that services over 2,000 families a month.
