PART-TIME ASSISTANT MINISTER OF MUSIC

Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church (Charlotte, NC): This predominately African American congregation seeks an anointed, spirited filled individual who is able to read, write and interpret music. Ideal candidate should be well-versed in the latest gospel and traditional styles of music; music teacher familiar with voice and various techniques used to obtain good quality sounds from any choir; willingness to travel to local and regional religious programs.

Seeking an individual who can minister’s God’s word from the simplest or most complex musical arrangement and still spread a message of hope. He or she must be able to practice with the choir and other musicians at least one day of the week. Currently 7:00 p.m. every Thursday night is the official practice time. Availablity for normal mass and special holiday services and yearly concerts is a requirement. Candidate must also maintain a library of music and be creative in reviving old hymns to a new sound that every age group can appreciate. Ideal candidate will be professional and possess a music degree or strong background with the ability to teach and enhance the word of God through song.
