Seeking Minister of Music

The True Light Baptist Church, 900 Thomas St in the city of Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently seeking a Part-Time Minister of Music, who has a heart for Music Ministry in the Lord’s church. True Light Baptist is a predominately African American church with a membership of 450 persons.  Recently, our church was blessed with a young charismatic and energetic pastor and is experiencing tremendous growth.

A successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

       • MUST BE  KNOWLEDGEABLE IN BASIC MUSICAL PRINCIPLES;
       • MUST POSSESS A PASSION FOR THE MUSIC MINISTRY,
       • MUST POSSESS PROVEN LEADERSHIP/DIRECTORIAL  SKILLS,
       • MUST EMBRACE A BALANCE OF TRADITIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP MUSIC
       • MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE A TEACHING AND LEARNING EXPERIENCE TO LEAD VOCALIST, DIRECTORS, CHOIR MEMBERS AND OTHER INSTRUMENTAL MUSICIANS

The Minister of Music will work with the Senior Pastor to plan worship and will oversee all music staff. This is a growth opportunity for the right musician.
